Passing-Bablok Regression for Method Comparison

چکیده
Passing-Bablok regression for method comparison is a robust, nonparametric method for fitting a straight line to two-dimensional data where both variables, X and Y, are measured with error. It is useful when you have two devices that should give the same measurements and you want to compare them. This is accomplished by test estimate a linear regression line and testing whether the intercept is zero and the slope is one. The Passing-Bablok regression procedure fits the intercept (β0) and the slope (β1) of the linear equation

OBJECTIVES To evaluate and validate a hand-held electrochemical meter (Precision Xtra®) as a screening test for subclinical ketosis and hypoglycaemia in lactating dairy cattle. DESIGN Method comparison study using a convenience sample. PROCEDURE Blood samples were collected into plain tubes from the coccygeal vessels of 181 Holstein cows at 2-4 weeks of lactation during summer in Iran. Bloo...
متن کاملAuthor response: Passing-Bablok regression is inappropriate for assessing association between structure and function.
We thank Marin-Franch for his comments on our recent paper. If some aspects of the statistical analysis were not as clear as they perhaps could have been, we are grateful for the opportunity to address them here. The first concern was that our conclusion was in conflict with previous findings. Hood et al. assumed that there is no relationship between retinal nerve fiber layer thickness and visu...

متن کاملStatistical analysis in method comparison studies – Part one
Method comparison is commonly performed by laboratory specialists to assess the comparability of two methods. The quality of method comparison study determines the quality of the results and validity of the conclusions. The key to the successful method comparison is therefore a well-designed and carefully planned experiment. The question to be answered by the method comparison is whether two me...

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the Bio-Rad D-100®, an HPLC analyzer for glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) determination, and to compare its performance with the Menarini HA-8180V® and Sysmex G8®. METHODS Method comparison was performed according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) EP9-A2 guidelines. We selected 100 samples from the routine laboratory workload and analyzed them in duplicat...
